A fine revival piece in ivory, gold and blue tones. The motif is based on a vintage Mamluk design. Many Mamluk rugs were originally produced in Cairo during the Mamluk Sultanate in the 15th and 16th centuries. Their compositions incorporated sophisticated geometry characteristic of Islamic art.
This piece is finely woven in Afghanistan with Ghazni wool, some of the best wool on the planet.
