Antique Persian Mahal 27167
Couldn't load pickup availability
This antique Mahal features a brick-red abrash ground with ivory, indigo and deep brown accent tones. The allover pattern features a lattice organization of geometric floral sprays, rosettes and radial palmettes. The composition is completed by an intricate harshang border, with minor borders of rosettes. Mahals are a variety of the distinguished Sarouk, produced in Sultanabad (current day Arak) in northwest Iran, a prominent center of village and workshop productions in the 19th and 20th centuries, often for the European market.
