This stunning antique Sultanabad features an allover design of alternating radial floral sprays and circular medallions against a midnight blue ground. Secondary colors include golden yellow, green, a range of blues, orange and tan. An intricate harshang border on a rust colored ground completes the composition. Sultanabad, current day Arak in northwest Iran, became a prominent center of village and workshop productions in the 19th and 20th centuries, often for the European market.
