This antique Bibikabad piece has ivory, olive green, tan, and soft red tones. The axial design features a large diamond medallion with pendant extensions, and is filled with intricate herati pattern. The ivory field brims with sickle leaf, palmette and floral fills following a similar herati design. An interior scalloped border is also patterned.Tiered external borders feature meanders and star motifs. Bibikabad is a rug weaving village of the Hamadan region of northwestern Iran.
