This uniquely designed Bakhtiari rug features a woven pile texture of ruby red, earthy tan, and pink with black and indigo detailing. These colorful, hand-woven elements give way to the ivory foundation of this heavily distressed antique piece. Notwithstanding the signs of wear and age, floral medallions, pendants, cornerpieces, and elaborate fill motifs can be discerned. This rug comes from the Bakhtiari, a tribal people from west-central Iran renowned for their woven arts. This antique Bakhtiari Persian rug offers a stunning example of the Bakhtiari attention to detail and design.
