Nubbed pile of ruby red, umber, indigo, coral and rose gives way to the ivory matrix of the foundation in this heavily distressed antique piece. Despite the marks of age, the traditional floral compartment design-- characteristic of the Bakhtiari weavers of west-central Iran-- is clearly discernible.
