This fine antique Kerman features an abrash indigo field with border and motif elements in camel, tan, ivory, taupe and light blue tones. The design consists of a charming variety of floral vase imagery spaced in an axial configuration, and framed in tiered borders of rosettes, meanders and garden motifs. This is a sophisticated piece from Kerman in southeast Iran, an area known for courtly rugs of the Safavid tradition.
