After Hours Design Lounge with Karyn Millet

April 26th designers and guests gathered for cocktails and conversation with Karyn Millet, award winning photographer and founder of Krush iMagazine. Karyn shared her insights on the art of design photography, career, cameras, and travel.

About Karyn Millet
After an accomplished career in public relations and publishing, Karyn Millet picked up a camera in 2002, and never looked back. Since then, the award-winning photographer’s work has appeared in House BeautifulTraditional HomeLuxeInteriorsArchitectural DigestC MagazineThe Los Angeles TimesIndagareDesignLA and Condé Nast Traveller, among other publications.
She has photographed for leading hospitality clients such as The Beverly Hills Hotel, Montage Resorts, The Grand Del Mar, and The Beverly Hilton.
Millet is the recipient of the illustrious “Stars of Design” Award for Photography, and is an APA Single Image award winner. Her vivid images have been installed in leading resorts, spas, and restaurants, as well as in private homes across the U.S.
She has enjoyed four solo shows for her photographic artwork, which generated press coverage in The Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Confidential and Angeleno.
Millet has photographed four books, including The Well-Dressed Home (Clarkson Potter) and The Accidental Photographer: Dare to Do Something Different (Bellus Press), and is currently working on her fifth book.
CBS LA named Millet one of the “Best Photographers to Follow on Instagram.” In 2017, she launched the Instagram magazine, Krush iMag, a 10-page glimpse at decorating and style trends. Millet is a Contributing Editor to House Beautiful magazine.
Artist Francis Davis Millet, who perished on The Titantic, was her great, great uncle. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband Dan Shea who never ceases to be the world’s most patient travel companion while Millet seeks to find the perfect shot.
