This antique Tabriz in the style of the legendary designer of courtly rugs, Haji Jalil, features a soft brown field with darker brown lobbed medallion and spandrels, and accents of rose, ivory, taupe and burgundy. The densely filled design features florals, palmettes, and herati field pattern. Tabriz, in Northwestern Iran, is a rug center of the refined courtly tradition dating back to 16th c. Safavid Dynasty.
