Antique Tabriz in soft camel with ivory, tan and celadon, and accents of browns, rose and umber tones. The composition features a large hexagonal medallion with geometricized pendants and cornerpieces. These areas have a small-scale herati pattern with sickle leaves. The field area of soft abrash is open. The herati border is flanked by tiers of meander guards. Tabriz, in Northwestern Iran, is a rug center of the refined courtly tradition dating back to 16th c. Safavid Dynasty.
