Antique Kerman with celadon, pale gold and pale apricot tones, with blue accents and indigo outlines. This elaborate arabesque design features baroque architectural elements and spiraling sickles leaves framing the central medallion and field. Brimming vase motifs preside in the spandrels with smaller vases in the main border. Arrangements of smaller leaf and branching rosette motifs embellish the interstices.This is a sophisticated piece from Kerman in southeast Iran known for courtly rugs of the Safavid tradition.
