Taupe, celadon, camel, caramel and deep red mesmerize in this stunning antique Lavar Kerman. The design features an all-over curvilinear vine lattice structure with intricate palmettes, rosettes, irises and crocuses. The main borders match the field ground color, with minor guards of cherry red establishing a vivid frame. Lavar, north of Kerman in southeastern Iran, is a source of fine rugs of the Safavid courtly tradition.
